1. Submission Rules for Challenges & Project Ideas

Please read the following submission rules carefully before publishing a challenge or project idea on SAIRA.

Visibility

Once you have published your challenge or project idea, it will be visible for registered and logged-in users in the role of a WAITRO researcher (Problem Solvers) only. Other users of SAIRA (Solution Seekers) are not able to access or see your challenge or project idea. WAITRO researchers (Problem Solvers) can submit proposed solutions that will be visible for you and your team members only.

Changes after Submission

Once you have submitted your challenge or project idea, you cannot change it anymore. Editing is only possible by un-publishing and re-publishing, which is not recommended.

Authority & Ownership 

If you submit a challenge or project idea, you acknowledge that you act on behalf of a company, start-up, or research and technology organization and that you will actually engage in R&D activities after a successful matchmaking.

Contract Research (for Industrial Challenges)

Contract Research implies a payment for R&D services provided by professional research and technology organizations. If you have selected a WAITRO Researcher (Problem Solver) on behalf of your company, you negotiate the terms and conditions of a collaboration directly with your R&D partner, including the scope of work, tasks, duration and financial details.

Confidentiality

Please note that in the first step, no party should provide any confidential information even though the submission of an challenge, project idea or proposed solution should not be interpreted as giving SAIRA, WAITRO researchers (Problem Solvers) or any other third party the permission for any commercial use of the submitted information. You are responsible for taking all appropriate measures to protect the core information of your know-how in order to avoid any fraud or abuse of sensitive information. Detailed information should only be disclosed under a Confidential Disclosure Agreement (CDA) or a Non-Disclosure Agreement (NDA) after a successful matchmaking.

Intellectual Property Rights

In any case, the submission of a solution by WAITRO researcher (Problem Solvers) does not imply a grant or transfer of Intellectual Property Rights. The Intellectual Property Rights stay with the owner. After a successful matchmaking the usage and transfer of Intellectual Property Rights can be agreed upon.

Contracting Process after Matchmaking

If you select a WAITRO researcher (Problem Solver) for collaboration, you negotiate the terms of the contract, including the scope of work, tasks and duration, and financial compensation directly with your partner. In case you consider a proposal for cooperation, please sign a CDA/NDA. Cooperation conditions and IP arrangements are made if a partnership is formed and a CDA/NDA signed.

Liability

Please note that SAIRA serves as an unbiased broker to connect you to WAITRO researchers (Problem Solvers) and Solutions Seekers around the globe. There is no warranty, guarantee or liability that your challenge or project idea will be matched with technological know-how and expertise by other WAITRO researchers (Problem Solvers). SAIRA does not promise a matchmaking or successful implementation of your challenge or project idea. By submitting a challenge or project idea, you guarantee that SAIRA will not be made liable to any claims or litigation whatsoever from you or a third party concerning the Intellectual Property Rights associated with the idea presented, nor to its financial consequences and ramifications.

Funding

A matchmaking of challenges or project ideas and proposals on SAIRA does not mean that you will receive funding. Neither SAIRA nor WAITRO will provide direct funding.

 

2. Submission Rules for Proposals

Please read the following submission rules carefully before publishing a proposal on SAIRA.

Visibility

Once you have published your proposal, it will be visible to the WAITRO team that uploaded the project idea. Other users of SAIRA are not able to access or see your proposal.

Changes after Submission

Once you have submitted your proposed solution, you cannot make changes or delete your proposal anymore. Make sure to only submit finalised proposals.

Authority & Ownership 

If you submit a proposal in response to a challenge or project idea, you agree that you and/or your organization are the owner of the submitted proposal and that you have the right to upload and share this information on behalf of your research and technology organization. Furthermore, you acknowledge that you will actually engage in R&D activities in case of a successful matchmaking.
